I just taped and snapped together a pair of casualty blankets.Works great for sleeping, down to freezing, if you're dressed to be walking around at freezing temps. 2 lbs, $$30, but you have to use a bugnet bag between your body and the mylar above you.
Can we sew this fabric?
I’m considering doing this as I have a ton of tyvec lying around. I do alreDy have the Usgi gortex though. ReAlly I’m trying to decide if it’s worth the weight savings. The goretex weighs 2.25 lbs and I figure a tyvec patterned after the same would be about 1 lb (with zipper). What are your thoughts on long term durability?
Until it rains or snows
How is the bivy holding up?..Do you need to use a ground sheet because of breathability..
