  1. also, if you can pierce the stick, it makes for a good trail marker. nothing else in the woods is neon orange or purple.

  2. Yeah, I know that the spec ops guys use chem lights but flashlights last longer bc you can turn them off when you are done with them, and you won't have to bury it just to get rid of the light.

  3. Some dollar flashlight don’t even last 8 hours before you need to replace the batteries. LEDs , flashlight, and batteries use a lot of environmental resources to make and the batteries need to be disposed of. I think you should research more before you claim these light sticks are worse for the environment.

  4. That flashlight won’t survive in heavy rain or being submerged and even if you fully charge it, it will loose charge is less than 6 months most likely whereas you can just buy and forget about glowsticks for 6 months. You also can’t use the light as a 360 degree beacon as effectively because the flashinglight is directional.

  5. Depends on what you wanna donwith them. I carry both.

A torch gives you a.fpcused beam, while a glowstick fulfils the same function as a candle or a lantern, in that it casts a wide floodnof light, vs the flashlight beam.

  6. ITS 2020 APRIL 28TH COVID-19 IS KILLING AND MAKING PEOPLE SICK IN ALL 50 STATES. TISSUE, GUNS,AMMO ARE IN SHORT SUPPLY AND A LOOMING MEAT SHORTAGE IS LOOMING. SINCE THIS VIDEO IS ABOUT 2 YRS OLD, IAM NOT JUDGING THE CREATOR, BUT I JUST WANT TO SAY I HOPE AND PRAY YOUR PREP GAME IS SOLID. THANK GOOD WE HAVEN'T HAD STATE WIDE POWER OUTAGES YET. ITS SPRING TIME BUT WHEN THE SUMMER HEAT STARTS AND THE AC COMES ON WITH 90% OF THE COUNTRY ON HOUSE ARREST. 8 HOURS OF GLOWING PLASTIC IS VERY VALUABLE AND THE PERFECT BACK UP FOR A FLASH LIGHT.

  7. Pretty sure if you were in a real life 'oh shit' situation…you are not going to be worried about some plastic wrapper. Of course flashlights are better, but unless you actually have more batteries, your flashlight is not going to be on constantly for 12 hrs like a glow stick. 1 stick runs about 75cents. Having both is the ideal thing to do. You use your flashlight for seeing at a distance and for short amounts of time, where a glow stick is going to light up your sleeping area all night.

I have both in my bag, small LED flash lights that take a single AA battery with about 8 extra batteries. Also have about 20-30 glow sticks.

Fire will probably be your main light source anyway.
