make emergency lights from cans and candles
DIY emergency lights
hi it’s AlaskaGranny I came to my bug out bunker and
and I thought I need to figure
out some alternate
lights for when I come in here lights for emergency situations power outages
and I
thought about different ways to use the
tea candles that I have so here’s one
candle sitting by itself
and you can see gives a little bit of light
but I cut a soda can you just cut it
like a capital I
you slice it down and then you cross
it and you fold open the flaps and it
reflects all kinds of light
plus it gives heat if you wanted to
warm up something
or cook something I also took a lid
from a number ten can and I just
folded the lid and made a little shelf
and I put a candle on the folded edge I
melted the wax to stick the candle so it didn’t slip
and it gives me some reflective light so
let me show you
got the door open and it is sunny outside
but
if the door is and it’s still kinda dark
in here anyway but if the doors closed it’s
pitch black IN HERE it is underground you can see
the difference
in the amount of light these three DIY emergency lights are giving off
a tea candle and a light in a soda can and a light
on a bent number 10 can lid
have emergency lights and DIY make some emergency sources of light
so in a power outage in your
home power outage emergency
in your bunker you have some ways
that you know to provide a little extra
light safely

  1. Wow! Never thought of this. We keep lots and lots of tea candles around. This would definitely disperse the light better. Thank you for the idea.
